Canon to the Left of Them: Flora and Fauna

As with the Flora and Fauna of Combat Dome page, but for Combat Dome Other Media.

FAUNA

ANCIENT: see "CETRA"

CETRA

Other Media: The Life of Joanna Hojo-Be-Damned Whatyoulike
Number Witnessed: unspecified
Appears in Games?: Maybe. Depends what Joanna really is.

Cetra are tall, thin humanoids, mentioned as resembling Tolkien-style elves but being too tanned and too primative. They are migratory herders who are constantly seeking a fabled 'Promised Land'. The Sourceworlder spends some time under the care of the Eastern Cetra Tribe after first arriving on Gaia. Their mostly-oral culture is very similar to that of early humanity.

DOG

Other Media: For Want of a Nail
Number Witnessed: 1
Appears in Games: Yes

Bob is irritated by a barking dog when he arrives back in time, and shuts it up by stuffing its mouth with cash. This, of course, would explain why the guard hound that Loki killed in the FFVII Game was carrying money…

ELF

Other Media: The Life of Joanna Hojo-Be-Damned Whatyoulike
Number Witnessed: only mentioned
Appears in Games?: No.

The Sourceworlder initially mistakes the Cetra (see above) for Tolkienesque elves.

GOAT

Other Media: The Rules of Combat Dome
Number Witnessed: Only Mentioned
Appears in Games: Yes

One of the rules states that 'You have to love the goat. Everyone has to love the goat'. It has an additional corollary that this is true 'Unless you're Jack. Under no circumstances should Jack be allowed to love the goat'. Oddly, the only CD character yet shown to love a goat was in fact named Jack

HUMAN

Other Media: The Life of Joanna Hojo-Be-Damned Whatyoulike; It Runs in the Family; Charge of the Phoenix; For Want of a Nail
Number Witnessed: A lot.
Appears in Games: oh yes.

The ever-versatile humanity has permeated every known universe, including those that aren't truly canon. But it's likely that you know a lot about this species already.

LEPRECHAUN

Other Media: The Combat Dome blog "Americans"
Number Witnessed: 1
Appears in Games: no

Shamus the Leprechaun seems to be one of the few native inhabitants of the Metaverse.

MONSTER

Other Media: For Want of a Nail
Number Witnessed: 1
Appears in Games: Yes

Bob accidently frees a monster from an apparent Shin-Ra lab when he blows up a reactor. You may or may not remember that J451 got free from Shin-Ra in the vicinity of a reactor…

RAT

Other Media: It Runs in the Family; Charge of the Phoenix
Number Witnessed: 1
Appears in Games?: yes.

Roddy the lab rat appears briefly in both IRitF and CotP.

STRANGE CREATURE

Other Media: The Life of Joanna Hojo-Be-Damned Whatyoulike
Number Witnessed: unspecified
Appears in Games?: Presumably not.

A herd of 'strange creatures' is seen by the Sourceworlder. They appear to have been domesticated by the Cetra (see above).

SUPERHUMAN

Other Media: The Life of Joanna Hojo-Be-Damned Whatyoulike; Charge of the Phoenix
Number Witnessed: unspecified
Appears in Games?: Yes.

Some apparent clones of Genesis appear in TLoJH-B-DW, laying seige to Joanna's parents' house. Charge of the Phoenix, being about the Loki/Deepground war, features them also.

FLORA

BONSAI TREE

Other Media: For Want of a Nail
Number Witnessed: only mentioned
Appears in Games: no

In the Loki-is-dead universe, Rebecca makes a living selling these.

SUPERNATURAL CREATURES

GOD

Other Media: The New Combat Dome "Test Creation Forum"
Number Witnesses: 1

The "Great God Testoffolese" is mentioned briefly in a New Combat Dome forum.

Number Witnessed: 1
Appears in Games: Weirdly, no.

Seo'c is the Demon of Advertising.

SUMMON

Other Media: It Runs in the Family; For Want of a Nail
Number Witnessed: 3
Appears in Games: yes

Loki's Ifrit is used in his fight with Von III in IRitF, and Von fights back with a Leviathon summon. President Insanity (Loki's alternate self) still keeps his Ifrit and Chogomog summons on him for sentimental reasons; the former he gives to a mercenary to kill Bob with, the latter is stolen and used by Rebecca to get to said mercenary in time to stop him.

OTHER THINGS WHICH COULD BE CLASSED AS ALIVE

SUPERCOMPUTER

Other Media: It Runs in the Family; For Want of a Nail

J.A.N.E has cameos in both IRitF and FWoaN (unnamed). Also, in the FWoaN universe, President Insanity has one called J.O.A.N.N.A.
